stuartAntony Stuart is an accomplished trial attorney and the principal of Stuart Law Firm in Los Angeles. He specializes in tort litigation, including legal malpractice, consumer protection cases, personal injury, invasion of privacy, First Amendment litigation, class actions and insurance litigation. In recent years he has pioneered the prosecution of fraud cases against purveyors of junk health insurance. He was lead counsel for the plaintiff in the seminal California privacy case, Shulman v. Group W Productions, 18 Cal.4th 200 (1998), and was instrumental in the successful effort to institute statutory regulation of attorney advertising in television and radio. In 1998, California Lawyer magazine named him one of California’s top 20 lawyers, and in 2000, Editor and Publisher magazine named him one of the nation’s “Three Kings of Privacy,” in media litigation.

A leader of his profession, Mr. Stuart served as President of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles in 2004, and in 2011, the Secretary of Consumer Attorneys of California. In 2003, he was appointed by the Chair of the California Judicial Council to serve on the Blue Ribbon Panel on the Fair and Efficient Administration of Civil Cases. In this capacity he was instrumental in the revision and liberalization of the rules of judicial management of civil cases and the grounds for continuance of civil trials. In 2001 he served on the AB 2069 Subcommittee of The Committee on Professional Responsibility and Conduct (COPRAC) of the California State Bar Board of Governors.

Mr. Stuart has been recognized for his accomplishment as a trial lawyer, receiving, on three occasions, the nomination of his peers for consideration as “Trial Lawyer of the Year,” an award of the Los Angeles Trial Lawyers Association/Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles.
